To get more young people involved in start-up opportunities, the China Youth University of Political Studies and the Chinese Academy of Sciences launched a platform dedicated to creating innovative cultural opportunities within the framework of China's "Belt and Road" initiative on Saturday in Chengdu, Southwest China's Sichuan Province.

China to Establish Research Center on Central Asia Regional S&T Issues

A joint research project led by three Chinese research institutions on international science and technology cooperation platform was initiated on Nov. 22 in Urumuqi, capital of China’s Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. The project was jointly conducted by the CAS Research Center for Ecology and Environment of Central Asia supported by Xinjiang Institute of Ecology and Geography (XIEG) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Fudan University and Peking University.

Twenty national scientific and research organizations from countries and regions along the Belt and Road Initiative issued a declaration on Nov. 8, establishing an alliance of international scientists to promote cross-border cooperation. China Promotes Sci-Tech Cooperation Along Belt and Road

The Chinese government has released a plan on scientific and technological (S&T) cooperation between China and countries along the Belt and Road. China plans to set up joint labs, research centers, tech transfer centers and S&T parks with countries along the Belt and Road in the next three to five years, according to a document issued by the Ministry of Science and Technology, the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Commerce.
