China State Shipbuilding Corp is designing what it says is the world's most advanced rescue ship, and plans to commission it around 2021. The State-owned shipbuilder's Shanghai Merchant Ship Design and Research Institute said in a statement that the ship, which has yet to be named, will be tasked with conducting search-and-rescue operations in the South China Sea with the Transport Ministry's Nanhai Rescue Bureau.
China's BeiDou Navigation Satellite System (BDS) has started to provide global service, said BDS Spokesperson Ran Chengqi on Thursday. At a press conference of the State Council Information Office, Ran said the construction of the BDS-3 primary system had been completed.
China's national high-tech zones have played an important role in the country's innovation-driven development in the past 30 years. High-tech zones, of which there are a total of 168, have become an important growth engine for China's economic development, Wang said in Beijing at a symposium on the 30th anniversary of the high-tech zones.
China successfully launched the No. 3 telecommunication technology test satellite on Tuesday from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center. The satellite was developed and produced by the China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation. There have been 296 Long March rocket missions.
China launched a technology experiment satellite (TES) as part of its Hongyun Project, a low-orbit broadband communication satellite system, on Saturday morning. With this TES, China will extend the test and application demonstration of low-orbit space-based Internet technologies.
