Jun 25, 2019

The 29th International Laser Radar Conference (ILRC) kicked off Monday in Hefei, capital city of east China's Anhui Province.

The conference, the first time to be held in China, was hosted by the Anhui Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

The five-day event attracted more than 500 experts and scholars from 35 countries, including Russia and Japan, to share views on the development of the laser radar industry.

Over 280 papers will be presented in eight sessions during the conference, focusing on topics ranging from weather forecasting to laser radar technology in ocean studies.

The ILRC is conventionally held biennially under the oversight of the International Coordination-group for Laser Atmospheric Studies of the International Radiation Commission. (Xinhua)
