Space Exploration Pioneers: Three Generations of Fruit Flies Born in China's Space Station
A thrilling moment was captured on video early on the morning of Nov. 19, 2024, when a tiny fruit fly emerged from its pupa and surveyed its unfamiliar surroundings, marking the first birth of a fruit fly aboard China's space station. The research team from the Institute of Biophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), is now analyzing the biological effects of microgravity and the absence of Earth's magnetic field, as well as their combined impact, marking a significant advancement in China's space biology research.
