In collaboration with scientists from National Taiwan University and University of California, a research team led by Dr. HOU Xiaolin from the Institute of Earth Environment recently presented a clear record of human nuclear activities at low latitudes by analyzing 129I and 127I in Taal Lake sediment core from Philippines.
After the first data release (DR1) was published in January 2017, Beijing-Arizona Sky Survey (BASS) has obtained new observed data and updated the data processing software recently. The second data release (DR2) is now available to the public.
Recently, the researchers from Institute of Modern Physics of Chinese Academy of Sciences reported the discovery of a new isotope 219Np, which was produced via the fusion reaction 187Re(36Ar,4n)219Np at the gas-filled recoil separator Spectrometer for Heavy Atoms and Nuclear Structure at the Heavy Ion Research Facility in Lanzhou. The a-decay properties of 219Np were measured for the first time.
A research group led by Prof. YU Xuefeng from Shenzhen Institutes of Advanced Technology designed a simple solvothermal strategy to synthesize in-plane black phosphorus/dicobalt phosphide heterostructures by defect/edge-selective growth of Co2P on the BP nanosheets.
Through analyzing the 2012-2013 winter haze events in Beijing, a research team led by Prof. TIE Xuexi from the Institute of Earth Environment together with international partners presented that water vapour in the atmosphere played an important role in enhancing haze pollution in Eastern China.
A study team led by Professor WU Zhengyan in Institute of Technical Biology and Agriculture Engineering, Hefei Institutes of Physical Science developed an anion-responsive nanosystem to control selenium fertilizer release by polyethylenimine modified hollow/mesoporous carbon nanoparticles.
