CAS researcher finds two new Araceae species

    Mr. Yin Jiantao, a young botanist from the CAS Xishuangbanna Tropical Biological Garden in southwest China's Yunnan Province, has discovered two novel species in Araceae, a family of herbaceous monocots.

    One of his paper "Colocasia menglaensis (Araceae), a new species from southern Yunnan, China" has been published in the June issue of Ann. Bot. Fennici, and another one "Arisaema menghaiense (Araceae), a new species from southern Yunnan, China" will appear in the September issue of Novon.
