Dr. SUN Zhuling from Institute of Atmospheric Physics (IAP) of Chinese Academy of Sciences was honored with Young Scientist Award at the 32nd International Conference on Lightning Protection (ICLP2014) held in Shanghai, China, during Oct 13-17, 2014. Dr. SUN and three other young scientists won the award for their outstanding achievement on lightening research. The honor was given to Dr. SUN in recognition of the efforts in developing a new lightning VHF radiation location system based on short-baseline time-difference of arrival technology to observe lightning discharge with high temporal and spatial resolution.
The Shanghai International Forum on Advanced Bioceramics was successfully held in Shanghai Institute of Ceramics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (SICCAS) on October 28, 2014. More than 30 scientists and experts from Switzerland, France, Japan, Australia, America, Indonesia, and China attended the forum. The theme of this year's forum is "Perspective and future trends of bioceramic research". The forum was chaired by Prof. CHANG Jiang from SICCAS. Prof. SONG Lixin, the director of SICCAS, gave the opening address. He welcomed all the participants and hoped this forum could promote the exchanges and collaborations among international researchers on basic and applied researches on bioceramics.
