At 11:00 am Oct. 29 the National Satellite Meteorological Center obtained the first visible cloud picture from the five-channel scan radiometer onboard the Fengyun-2 C weather satellite, which was launched 10 days earlier.
As major payloads of the satellite, the scan radiometer and a fine sun sensor were independently developed and built by scientists from the CAS Shanghai Institute of Technical Physics.
Experts say the image received via the system is clear with distinct gradation, showing the satellite is functioning normally.
