The application of CAS Hefei Branch to set up three province-level key labs has obtained the approval recently from the government of Anhui Province, which brings the total number of such labs at the Branch to eight.
The three new labs are Anhui Key Laboratory of Optical Monitoring Technology for Environment (AKLOMTE), Anhui Key Laboratory of Nanomaterials and Technology (AKLNT), Anhui Key Laboratory of Ion Beam Bioengineering (AKLIBB). The AKLOMTE will focus on the basic research of environmental spectroscopy, new approaches to quantitative analyses of the environment, and the integration of new and high technologies of environment monitoring. The AKLNT will target at the development of applied techniques with independent intellectual property rights. And the AKLIBB will mainly carry out studies into single particle accelerators and cellular micro accelerators.
