Madam Liu made the remarks during her inspection trip to the CAS Shenyang Institute of Automation on the morning of 2 September. Accompanied by CAS President LU Yongxiang, she visited the Underwater Robotics Research Center, Workshop for Robot Assembly, and Optical-Electronics and Information Processing Laboratory. She also made inquiries about the development of various robotics developed by the institute.
"I've been conducting studies on various types of CAS institutes over the past months and have a profound feeling of tremendous changes brought about by the Knowledge Innovation Program at CAS," says Liu.
She encourages CAS to shoulder the responsibility to establish a national innovation system with China's own characteristics. "Efforts should be made to promote the combination of business enterprises, universities and research institutions so as to speed up the technology transfer," she adds.
