Funded the MacArthur Foundtion, a Sino-US expedition team recently wound up a two-week trip to the south and southeastern part of the Tibet Autonomous Region. The 17-member team was comprised of researchers from the CAS Institute of Botany, the CAS Northwest Institute of Plateau Biology, Field Museum and Smithsonian Institution. In addition to scientific investigations, they also held training courses for the local people on biodiversity protection and management.
