The Institute of Neuroscience (ION), or Center for Excellence in Brain Science and Intelligence Technology (CEBSIT), Chinese Academy of Sciences, has on-going recruitment of Young investigators and Laboratory heads at the Investigator and Senior Investigator level.  

Since its founding in 1999, ION has aimed to implement the infrastructure of a modern research institute that provides an environment for rigorous scientific pursuit and fruitful interactions, a merit-based system for promotion and funding, and a high-quality training program for graduate students and postdoctoral fellows. The Institute currently has 48 laboratories in various areas of molecular, cellular and system neurobiology and plans to expand to 50 laboratories by 2020.  

Laboratory Head Positions 

Applications are invited for Laboratory Head positions in all areas of neuroscience and brain-inspired intelligence technology. Appointments of Investigator and Senior Investigator are equivalent to Assistant/Associate Professor and Full Professor, respectively, in major research universities in the US.  

Candidates must have a Ph.D. degree or equivalent training, and significant post-doctoral research accomplishments. Successful candidates will be required to develop a rigorous research program and to supervise graduate students and post-doctoral fellows. Competitive start-up funds, annual operating funds, salary, and housing allowance will be provided.
