Wandering Black Hole: Meet the Lost Traveler of the Cosmos

Not all black holes stay at the centers of galaxies. An international team led by the Shanghai Astronomical Observatory of CAS has confirmed a wandering intermediate-mass black hole in a dwarf galaxy ~230 million light-years away. Even offset from the galactic center, this black hole is actively accreting material and launching radio jets, proving that black holes can grow outside traditional central regions.
