CHANG Jin

CHANG Jin, Professor and Ph.D. in Space Exploration, is Vice President of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and a member of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Leading Group of CAS. He also serves as an alternate member of the 20th CPC Central Committee. 

Dr. CHANG is a member of CAS. He has long been engaged in detecting and studying high-energy particles from outer space. He leads the Dark Matter Particle Explorer (DAMPE, also known as “Wukong” in Chinese) satellite mission, a major astronomical research initiative in China. 

His contributions to science and technology have been recognized with numerous awards, including the State Scientific and Technological Progress Award Special Prize, the State Scientific and Technological Progress Award Second Prize, the National Natural Science Award of China Second Prize, the Ho Leung Ho Lee Foundation Scientific and Technological Progress Award (astronomy), the CAS Outstanding Science and Technology Achievement Prize, the ZHANG Yuzhe Award of the Chinese Astronomical Society, and Jiangsu Provincial Science and Technology Award First Prize.
