Research on Vital Energy Problems Won the Second Prize of Soft Science Research of National Energy Administration

National energy administration published the list of Excellent Achievement Prize of Soft Science Research recently. After rigid recommendation, expert review, special conference discussion, proclamation, the research on some vital energy problems won the second prize. This research was led by XIAO Yunhan research group, jointly finished by Energy and Power Research Center and Institute of Engineering Thermophysics.

Excellent Achievement Prize of Soft Science Research was set up by National Energy Administration with aims to enhance the research on energy vital problems and to promote energy scientific development. The applicant research should not only take the vital energy problems of our country as study object, but also have great academic value. Moreover, it should promote the development of energy science and can be referenced by the government to make energy policy.

The research on some vital energy problems was launched by early National Energy Office. About ten experts participated in the research and accomplished one research report and five research reports on specific subjects. These experts came from different units, including Energy and Power Research Center of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Institute of Engineering Thermophysics, Institute of Policy and Management, Energy Branch of High-tech Bureau, Wuhan Branch of National Science Library, Chinese Society of Power Engineering, Chinese Academy of Science and Technology for Development.

The research made a deep analysis of the actuality, existing vital problems, challenge and opportunity of our country’s energy technology innovation, and it investigated the energy technology innovation strategy of main countries in the world. It proposed the development concepts, overall goals and strategies of our country’s energy technology towards 2030 and 2050. Moreover, it analyzed the direction of vital energy technology innovation and clearly pointed out the road map and the way of technology innovation for the relevant energy equipment. Finally, it also presented some important recommendation for strengthening the government effect, support system and policy measures.

The research results are significant for strengthening the innovation of energy technology, promoting the development of strategic new-emerging energy and realizing the guiding effect of technology for the energy development. It also has an important reference value for making energy technology strategies.
