CAS, Guangdong to further S&T collaboration

Recently Bai led a team on a study trip in the province to find out the local demands for science and technology and to prepare for further cooperation with the local government.


    To understand the local demands for science and technology and to prepare for further cooperation with local government, CAS Executive Vice President BAI Chunli recently led a team on a study trip in south China's Guangdong Province. On 24 November, he met with Mr. WANG Yang, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Secretary of the CPC Guangdong Provincial Committee.

    Prof. Bai briefed Mr. Wang on the findings of his trip and the CAS proposal for S&T partnership with Guangdong. He said that CAS will make active efforts to promote the cooperation between the two sides by giving priorities on introducing a new system to integrate science, technology and economic development.

    Guangdong Province should rely on S&T innovation to achieve its objectives of technical renewal, industrial upgrading, and development of a modern industrial system, said Mr. Wang. Therefore, the province should strengthen collaboration with CAS, he added.
