CAS sent a large delegation to take part in the seventh Chonging High-Tech Fair and the Third International Military-Civilian Scientific Expo, which was held from April 20 to 23 under the joint sponsorship of Ministry of Science &Technology, Commission of Science & Technology Industry for National Defense, CAS, China Association of Innvention, and Chongqing Municipal Government.
Headed by CAS Vice President SHI Erwei, the CAS delegation consists of more than 60 scientists and engineers from about 20 CAS institutes and spin-off firms. They brought with them more than 130 research achievements in the fields of electronics, new materials, energy sources, biology, medicine, chemical engineering, environment protection, advanced manufacturing, optical electromechanical integration and modern agriculture.
The first Chongqing High-Tech Fair was held in 1999 with an objective of pushing forward the development and promote regional economic and technological cooperation in west China. As a sponsor, CAS participated in the fair over the past six years, exhibiting more than 1,000 research projects and signing 57 agreements with a total contract value of 1.38 billion yuan.
