Renewed CERN website welcomes your patronage at any time

Mar 24, 2005

The website of the Chinese Ecological Research Network (CERN) www.cern.ac.cn has been officially opened to the public after a reprogram and a 3-month trial operation.

Founded in 1988 under the auspices of the Chinese government and a World Bank Loan, CERN marks a major achievement of the CAS Knowledge Innovation Program, and its main objective is to promote ecosystem conservation and improvement, environmental quality enhancement and agricultural development, and to advance the studies in ecology and related inter-disciplines. Its mandate includes monitoring, research and demonstration on typical ecosystems in China. It's one of the founding members of the International Long-Term Ecosystem Research Network, and Global Terrestrial Observation System.

The CERN integrated website consists of a Chinese website, an English version, the ChinaFlux website link, and a data service system of ecosystem research. Chinese columns include news, projects on procedure, fund programs, research achievements introduction, people, and ecological popular science. The English web pages focus on the research progress, international exchanges, conferences and news from home and abroad with regard. The ChinaFlux site is intended to inform with the current flux analysis and related information, rather than a show window for the outsiders.

With other intriguing information on neighboring subjects, this information tank is waiting for you to subdue the land of the ecological world.
