ABOUT THE COMMITTEE
Profle

The Science and Ethics Committee is the consulting, reviewing, regulating, and organizing coordinating body of CAS in scientific and ethical field. Its main responsibilities are upholding the concept of technology towards kindness, coordinating and planning the overall construction and development of scientific and ethical work throughout the Academy under the leadership of the CAS Party Group, by improving the organizational structure, perfecting regulatory systems, strengthening theoretical research, ethical supervision and review, conducting promotional and educational programs, etc., to promote the construction of a scientific and ethical governance system within the Academy and to facilitate healthy development of its scientific and technological undertakings.

GENERAL ASSEMBLY
The General Assembly of Science and Ethics Committee is the highest organizational form of the ethics in science and technology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and shall be convened biennially, usually in the last week of June in an even-numbered Gregorian calendar year.

When countries construct their respective regulatory systems for MRT in the future, they need to fully consider potential ethical and social issues, based on technological progress, and a comprehensive design that takes into account of their own national circumstances, patient needs, risk factors, and existing regulatory frameworks for assisted reproductive technology, so that they can work together to address the challenges, and ensure sustainable development of technology, and maximize the benefits of humanity.
