Researchers from Yunnan Observatories of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the Zhoukou Normal University, proposed a new formation model for massive hot subdwarfs, offering explanations for a subset of helium-rich hot subdwarfs observed in the cosmos.
The Large High Altitude Air Shower Observatory (LHAASO) has accurately measured the cosmic ray all-particle energy spectrum and the mean logarithmic mass in the range of 0.3–30 peta-electronvolts (PeV). It has also discovered an "elbow" feature in the mean logarithmic mass spectrum of cosmic rays.
Prof. HUANG Qunying's team from the Hefei Institutes of Physical Science, in collaboration with Prof. NING Shunyan's team from South China University, developed a novel silica-based adsorbent for the highly selective separation of strontium from acidic medium.
A research team led by Prof. ZHANG Gaopeng from Xi'an Institute of Optics and Precision Mechanics (XIOPM) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) reported an on-orbit distortion parameter calibration method based on vanishing point consistency.
A research group led by Prof. LI Xiangyang from the Hefei Institutes of Physical Science has theoretically predicted a series of multiferroic materials that can be applied in room-temperature environments by utilizing the d-p spin coupling combined with center-symmetry-breaking organic heterocycles in two-dimensional Cr-based metal-organic frameworks.
The Very Long Baseline Interferometry (VLBI) operation team at the Nanshan Station of Xinjiang Astronomical Observatory operated the NanShan 26-meter Radio Telescope (NSRT) to participate in 4-Gbps VLBI observations organized by the European VLBI Network (EVN).
