Belt and Road International Scientific and Educational Cooperation and Market Expansion Training Programme Launched in Guiyang

The 6th "Belt and Road" International Scientific and Educational Cooperation and Market Expansion Training Programme of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) kicked off in Guiyang. The programme was officially launched on August 23 in Guiyang, Guizhou Province. The event, supported by the Personnel Department of CAS and the Institute of Geochemistry, marked the beginning of a comprehensive training for more than 30 students from different regions of China.

 

 

 

LI Heping, vice Director of the Institute of Geochemistry of CAS, DING Wangbin, Vice Dean of the School of Public Affairs at the University of Science and Technology of China, and other dignitaries graced the opening ceremony. LI Heping highlighted Guizhou's pivotal role in the Belt and Road Initiative, emphasising its strategic importance and the regional cooperation it entails.

DING Wangbin expressed his gratitude for the strong support and introduced the objectives of the programme. He stressed the importance of Sino-foreign technological cooperation and innovation. The students, representing different nations, were inspired by DING's motivational words and engaging discussions.

Over the following days, the students participated in insightful lectures, discussions and site visits. These included discussions on strengthening the Belt and Road Initiative through the digital economy, international technology cooperation and the American factors in the initiative. The programme concluded with the students expressing their appreciation for the enriching experience, the exchange of knowledge and the prospect of contributing to the development of the initiative.

The completion of the training programme marked another milestone in promoting international scientific cooperation and knowledge sharing, in line with the overarching spirit of the Belt and Road Initiative.
