As a series of CAS-TWAS Symposium on Green Technology, 2014 CAS-TWAS Symposium on Advanced Engineering Science for Sustainable Development (AES2014) was held in Beijing on May 28-30, 2014. 

This symposium was organized by CAS-TWAS Centre of Excellence for Green Technology (CEGT), Institute of Process Engineering (IPE) and CIESC Journal. 

It has attracted more than 200 researchers and graduate students, who came from USA, Canada, India, Pakistan, Thailand, Nigeria, Nepal, Vietnam, Ghana, Bangladesh, Denmark, Japan etc. 

More than 10 leading experts were invited to give plenary lectures, and 30 speakers presented their research work during the symposium. All the attendees fully communicated and discussed key scientific problems in the fields of green chemistry and chemical engineering, energy and environmental engineering, mesoscale science and process engineering, nanotechnology and material engineering. 

This symposium has not only established a good platform for researchers to exchange ideas and present new findings, but also laid foundation for international collaboration.
