Scientists from the Institute of Subtropical Agriculture, through systemically investigating three different landscape scales (namely lake region, hilly area and whole drainage area), have made progress in revealing the outbreak regularity of seasonal drought and the effect of agro-ecosystem landscape pattern evolution on flood disaster, estimating the exploitation potential of water and land resources for different types of ecosystems, evaluating the relationship between disaster outbreak and biodiversity and function for wetland ecosystem, and suggesting the strategies of optimizing the ecosystem function and protection policy. Six consultation reports have been submitted and 11 patents granted. |
