China’s First International Journal of S&T Policy Launched

Journal of Science and Technology Policy in China, the first international academic magazine of China’s S&T policy and strategy, started publication recently.

Jointly run by the Chinese Association for Science of Science and S&T Policy (CASSSP) and the Emerald Group Publishing Limited, the magazine is devoted to the studies of innovation, research and development (R&D), and science and technology (S&T) activities relative to China from an international perspective and under the globalized scenario. It also deals with issues concerning the management, acquisition and development of knowledge, including international S&T cooperation and R&D activities of transnational in China. Its scope covers academic issues of policy and strategic management at various levels, ranging from global, national to industrial, regional and individual research project. The research methodology could be either theoretical or empirical.

The journal has two sections: a research section containing high quality research papers, which will constitute its core part, and an academic discussion section focusing on S&T policy and management in China and East Asia. The research section will provide a dialog platform for scholars and practitioners both studying and implementing S&T policy in China. The academic debates section will carry an academic discussion on S&T issues in China or in East Asia, with the objective of bringing together theory and hypotheses with empirical strategy and policy, so as to provide an extensive view on the subject matter.

Journal of Science and Technology Policy in China is published worldwide. Sitting on its Editorial Advisory Board are renowned scholars of S&T policy both at home and abroad, including Prof. FANG Xin, a leader of CAS and the president of CASSSP, and Prof. Christopher Cullen, director of Needham Research Institute of Cambridge University in UK. Its Editor in China is Dr. YU Jiang, a researcher from the CAS Institute of Policy and Management.
