| China to Construct a Satellite Receiving Network |

China will complete the construction of a nationwide data-receiving network for land-based satellite observation next year to cover 70 percent of Asian territory and 100 percent of Chinese territory.
As a large-scale national scientific construction project, the network will comprise three large satellite data-receiving stations located in Miyun of Beijing, Kashkar of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region and Sanya of Hainan Province.
According to Guo Huadong, director of the Center for Earth Observation and Digital Earth of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, construction of the final data-receiving station in Sanya has already started this year and will be completed early next year. |
