Introduction:
Tianjin Institute of Industrial Biotechnology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (abbreviated as TIB, CAS) was one of the CAS series institutes, which co-founded by Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and the Tianjin Municipal People's Government. TIB was located in Tianjin Port Free Trade Zone &Tianjin Airport Industrial Park (TJFTJ&AIP).The park covers an area of 100 acres, and Phase I construction included R & D buildings and auxiliary facilities which total space of 43,000 square meters.
TIB will focus on the national major strategic needs and local community development needs of resources, energy, environmental protection etc. to promote sustainable industrial development, insisted on combination of innovation, technological innovation and regional socio-economic development, develop CEEUSRO and industrial biotechnology innovation system, promote the transformation of scientific and technological achievements. Eventually open up the value chain of scientific and technological innovation, contribute to the socio-economic development of Tianjin and Bohai-bay.
TIB will face to the scientific and technological level of international industrial biotechnology, and do innovational basic researching and development mainly on three fields, namely Industrial protein engineering and bio-catalysis, synthetic biology and microbial manufacturing engineering, biological systems and bio-process engineering. TIB will also provide technical support for achieving the strategic objective of “Two Substitutions and One Improve” (Substitute renewable resources for fossil resources, Substitute the route of bio-technology alternative for traditional chemical process, Improve the technological level of China's biological industry) , promoting the sustainable development of China's industrial economy and the new bio-manufacturing industries of Tianjin.
Research fields & Position:
(A) Industrial Biocatalysis and Green Chemistry
Focus on energy-saving and emission reduction of the chemical industry, substituting industrial biocatalysts for chemical catalysts, using bio-technology to transform the traditional chemical synthesis processes, developing bio-friendly products or processes. Key direction:
Industrial Enzymes: Screening important biological resources and the apoenzyme, carrying out in vitro / in vivo molecular transform and then optimizing their molecular characteristics. To developing new expression system, enhance the level of heterologous expression of enzymes significantly, and finally improve the level of enzyme preparation at scale. To develop new engineering techniques, improve the utility rate of industrial enzymes greatly, and develop the new enzyme preparation, such as food enzymes, enzymes for environment, washing enzyme, enzymes for energy, textile enzymes, and enzymes for medical use.
Green chemistry technology for production of new bio-products: Do some research in industrial catalysts and catalytic processes. Use enzymes or whole-cell catalyst technology to produce new biological products, which hard to transform and synthesize by chemical methods, or use it to replace the existing complicated steps in chemical synthesis processes. Study the molecular mechanisms of organisms and directed transformation of their enzymes, complete the assembly of new types of molecular machines, and develop new bio-synthesis technology. Develop efficient biosynthesis technology of high-value fine chemicals,such as chemical raw materials, pharmaceutical raw materials, chiral compounds, functional sugar and glycosylation chemicals. Use biotechnology to transform the chemical industry processes, achieve green chemistry, reduce the consumption of resource and energy, and decrease the pollution discharge.
Green Bio-Processing: To study the adaptation and combination mechanisms of microbial community or enzymes, and establish new bio-processing technology, develop bio-oil displacement, bio-metallurgy, bio-degradable and other new technologies, promote technological progress in energy and environment fields. Develop bio-textiles, bio-tanning, paper and other environment-friendly bio-processes and cleaner production technology to reduce environmental pollution caused by traditional crafts.
(B) Industrial fermentation and bio-refining
Our goal is to improve the level of fermentation industry and use biomass instead of petrochemical feedstock, construct engineering strains, improve the transform capabilities of microorganism, enhance the technological level of China's fermentation industry, achieve biological manufacturing of industrial raw materials. Key direction:
Bulk fermentation products: To carry out research on functional system of microbiological substance transformation, analyze, modify, or reconstruct cell specific metabolic pathways and metabolic network. To improve the yield and efficiency of target metabolites, obtain strains that significantly improved in industrial production performance. Enhance the production technology level of amino acid, vitamins, organic acids, food additives. Use synthetic biology and assembly technology of metabolic pathway to construct new material synthesis pathways and to develop new products.
Bio-refining of Bio-based products: Study the process mechanisms of lignocellulose degradation, use biological systems to achieve the fine separation and transformation of biomass resources such as lignocellulosic. Develop the multi-product bio-refining systems that use the renewable resources as material basis. Resolve and optimize the mechanisms of microorganisms using the 5 carbon sugar and six carbon sugar, Increase the capacity of transform biomass raw materials into sugar and transform sugar into lineage products. Develop bio-based materials and production technology of bio-based platform chemicals.
Fermentation Process Engineering: Carried out the study of fermentation kinetics under computer simulation, improve the level of fermentation amplification emulation. To study the processes of biological systems, solve the engineering problems in processes of biological response and biological separation, and improve the efficiency of large scale industrial biological processes. Investigate the processes of cleaner production techniques, to reduce the pollution emissions and resource consumption in fermentation industry.
(C) Industrial Bio-Manufacturing Engineering
The goal is to enhance the technology level of bioindustry, develop bio- preparative technique, bionic manufacturing and new bioreactor technology. Exploit preparative technique of high extra-value microbial recombine drugs, nutrition drugs, stem cells and tissue engineering materials. Key direction:
Biomedical products: develop microorganisms, plants, and animal cells reactors, set up an advanced protein separation and purification technology to produce high extra-value microbial recombine drugs, nutrition drugs and additives. Establish biological product large-scale preparative technique system, and promote development and application of biopharmaceutical products.
Stem cells and medical biological materials: Establish biological product large-scale preparative technique system, and develop stem cell application technology, promote the application of stem cells. Research and develop synthesis and preparative techniques of medical biological materials, nano-biomaterials, and biomimetic material combine with micro-modification processing, to promote the industrialization of tissue engineering materials.

Background Requirements:
1) Doctor degree or above, age should be no more than 45.

Applicants should normally be obtained assistant professor and above, or other comparable positions abroad.
