The Bureau takes charge of the study, formulation and dynamic management of the academy’s development planning; the strategic and policy research into the academy’s development; providing advice on major issues in reform and development; drawing up important documents for CAS leaders; making systematic analyses of national socioeconomic development trends so as to pinpoint the strategic demands of the country; making systematic analyses of world science development trends so as to keep track of world S&T frontline development; the establishment of an S&T evaluation system and its management; management of the CAS system of science popularization, publication and library; and the implementation of policies, codes and regulations at the Academy, etc..
